Airflow Conveyorised Powder Coating Plant
The Company
Medium sized company located in Huddersfield and employing around twenty personnel. The company is a specialist manufacturer of point of sale display equipment for both the high street and retail park markets. Business had grown to a level of production output dictating the need to invest in an Airflow 'turnkey' conveyorised powder coating plant.
The Problem
The Airflow Box Oven and Airflow Waterwash Spraybooth, although seen as the correct equipment for the volume of business when installed, were no longer adequate to match the production needs. The two operators had to degrease the components, powder coat them in a single booth, hang on racks and then load into the box oven. This inefficient method of working created an unacceptable quantity of rejects and inconsistencies in level of quality.

The Application
The pretreatment and application of a range of powder coatings to both wire mesh and sheet steel components, with up to 20 colours being used in any one week.

Consistency is now being achieved with the pre-treatment and finishing of the products which vastly reduces rejects and provides much improved quality standards.
